Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown: Redemption Patch Arrives!

Hold on to your steering wheels, racers! After a bumpy start, Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown has received its first major patch, bringing over 300 fixes to smooth out the road ahead.

A Much-Needed Tune-Up

Let's be honest, the launch of Solar Crown wasn't the dream return fans were hoping for. Server woes, performance hiccups, and a host of other issues put a damper on the experience. But KT Racing has been hard at work, and this patch aims to address many of the community's concerns.

Highlights of the Patch:

  • Server Stability: Say goodbye to frustrating login errors, race disconnections, and save issues. The servers have received a significant overhaul for a smoother online experience.

  • Performance Boost: Enjoy a smoother ride with an increased global framerate, while maintaining the same level of visual fidelity.

  • Steering Wheel Support & Ultra-wide: PC players can now enjoy better compatibility with their racing wheels and immersive ultra-wide monitors.

  • Squashed Bugs: Over 300 bug fixes tackle everything from crashes and freezes to AI quirks and suspension issues.

The Road to Recovery

While this patch is a major step in the right direction, it remains to be seen if it can fully restore player confidence. The initial launch setbacks undoubtedly impacted sales and left some players with a sour taste.

More Updates on the Horizon

KT Racing is committed to supporting Solar Crown with further updates. A second, PS5-specific patch is in the works to further enhance performance and graphics. While features like crossplay and offline mode aren't currently planned, the developers are listening to community feedback.

Season 1 Kicks Off!

With the patch in place, Season 1 is officially underway! Level up your driver and clan, unlock cosmetic rewards, and snag a prize car with the free 25-level Solar Pass. And get ready for a return to Ibiza Town with the free Season 2 map expansion later this year.

What are your thoughts on the patch? Head to the comments and let us know if it's enough to bring you back to the streets of Hong Kong Island!
